Emil Altschuler , Violin
One of America’s finest up and coming virtuoso violinists, Emil Altschuler, performs at a world class standard and possesses a commanding stage presence. He holds degrees from The Juilliard School and The Yale School of Music. Master violinist, Erick Friedman, wrote of him: “¼a very gifted violinist who possesses the talent and capability to become a truly outstanding violinist of his generation¼ and sound and accuracy of intonation that are truly extraordinary.”
His brilliant technique and vigorous performance energy has received ovations in venues such as Lincoln Center, San Francisco’s Helen Von Ammon’s Emerging Artist Series, The Aspen Music Festival, and Italy’s Castello di Galeazza. As a featured soloist, he has appeared with the Aspen Young Artist’s Orchestra, the Binghamton Philharmonic and the Binghamton University Chamber Orchestra.
Inviting new audiences, Emil has recently teamed up with classical guitarist Aaron Larget‑Caplan, in a show called ‘Summertime’, performing short jazz, Spanish, gypsy, and contemporary works in tandem with classical masterpieces. They are also sometimes accompanied on cello (plucked guitarstyle), by Emil’s brother and solo artist, Josiah Altschuler, who provides rhythmic and entertaining bass lines.
Jérôme Mouffe, guitar
Jérôme Mouffe is a brilliant guitarist from Belgium who has dazzled international audiences in Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, and the United States. Beginning his guitar studies at the early age of five with his parents Jérôme completed his Master degree with honor distinction from the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles in 2005 at age twenty.=2 0That same year he won the 1st prize “juvenil” at the prestigious Jose Thomas International Competition in Petrer, Spain. In 2007 Jérôme continued to garner prizes and won 2nd prize at the Boston Guitar Festival International Competition. He is currently completing his Doctorate degree in Musical Arts at the New England Conservatory, under the direction of famed guitarist Eliot Fisk..
